This is a question I can't offer an answer to, sadly. But I agree that a stronger spring _alone_ cannot be the solution. I'd assume the entire assembly has been redesigned.

If I remember correctly, there also was a discussion whether the size tolerance of the piston is too large and only those had problems where the tolerance was close to the upper limit.
So the repair kit could include a piston with a smaller tolerance together with a stronger spring.

in My letter that i got from KTM.NL it only mentions that the spring is being changed for a stronger spring

Talked to KTM today because I also had my cylinder replaced already but still got the letter.
This time only the spring will be changed and also appears for cylinders that have already been changed in the past. Thats the information from my dealer.
