    Hello Guys,

    Thanks for the replys.

I will answer the reason for more power.

I know Turbo is really not an option with the Superduke.

I dont have much experience with Nos and I think it only works on full throtle,

    again, not suitable for Superduke.

So the only real way to get more power is a bigger engine.

When, in 2005 I wanted a more comfortable and flickable ( Better switching in the fast twisties ) bike I traded my K3 1000 GSX-R

    For an other bike.

    I test rode:

MV Brutale, I found I had to rev it to much to get the power on + it was expencive.

Benelli TNT 1130 Triple, This bike was so sweet, lots of power and everything was right, except, the company had gone into liquidation...awaiting a new buyer.

KTM Superduke, A nice bike, quick acceleration if a little slower then the TNT.

I really wanted a TNT but I was advised by my dealer that if it should go wrong I would be in for a long wait to fix it.

So, I made my mind up. I was going to buy the Superduke.

I love my Superduke, I would go so far as to say, it is the best bike I have ever owned. I once had a Ducati 900ss air cooled and that comes a close second.

My Superduke started leeking oil down the side stand a few months ago. It turned out the crank case seal was faulty.

KTM UK said it was only the second bike to have such a problem but it still ended up in the garage for 6 weeks.

I have traveled 1000's of miles on my Superduke now and I am hitting the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd all the time.

I just wish I could get more power out of her.

When I rode the TNT I had no such problem, its 20bhp up on the Superduke.

The TNT Triple motor was such a beast too.

I know Benneli make the new TNT: The Tre-k but its a softer version of the TNT.

WHY DID BENNELI STOP PRODUCING THE TNT??? :weinen:

I just want more power from my v twin.

Over the past 5 years I have owned 4 bikes and 3 of them have been v twins.

Like I said, I would have gone for the TNT but I also love my v twins.

Is there a big bore kit for the Superduke? :zwinker:

AND NOW, IN GERMAN. I BET THIS WILL MAKE FUNNY READING!!

:zwinker:

Now call me a fool but I was wondering...

How hard it would be to fit a Turbo to my 2005 Superduke!

    Imagine it!!

    What do you think?

    Where to start? :denk:

    Thanks for the replys Guys,

I havent been caught out with no fuel yet but when I was on my GSX-R 1000 once.
The French countryside can be a barron place for fuel on a sunday!!!
Two French Police on BMW's stoped and went to the petrol station 5km away ( I almost made it! )
They came back with two water bottles of fuel for me.
I offered them money for a drink but they refused.
    Good Men!!
The French love bikers! As long as you go slow through villages.
And here is the photo to prove it!!

    Thanks for the input guys,
Rene, the chain likes to be tight hey, 5mm of travel or something like that. But it soon works loose again.
    Lumpy Twins Hey!
Marq, I have been meaning to do some fine adjustments to the gear change linkage, now is the time I think.

    Cheers

    DukeUK990.

Is it just me or does the Superduke have a big hole between 1st and 2nd gears.
I seem to be forever hitting nuetral between these two gears.
Sometimes the bike will slip back into nuetral from second.
    Anyone have similar issues??

    :sehe sterne:

    Hi Rene,
    Thanks for the advise.
I have been talking to HM Racing in the uk and they advised me to tighten up the rear spring. First I set the bikes sag weight to my own weight of 73kg.
I turned the top nut 3 full revolutions and set the rear suspension to "Sport Setting" and the front to "Standard Setting"
The Bike handles alot better now but steering still weaves slightly when I am riding hard and changing gear from 60+mph.
    Safe Riding Rene,

    DukeUK990.

    Hello Mike.
Yep, still looking for a steering damper!
Thinking of drilling hole's in top yoke and fitting standard wp damper with fitting kit.
    What do you think?

What an English Man on the site!!!! Ahhhh!!!!!
I have been looking for luggage for my baby but nothing untill Ventura Luggage System.
It looks a bit crap but there's not many places you can put luggage on the Super Duke.
At least a manufaturer has taken the time to make something for our bikes so they sholud be thanked for that at least.
Last week I decided to see if Baglux made an under seat mounting kit for my bike.
They do not and have no plans to make one one this year.
Seeing as I have both sizes of Whoppa bag sitting around I thought I would try making the smaller of the two bags ( 25 litre )
    fit my bike.
Now, if I have managed to attach the pictures you will see the first one is how the bag sits on the bike. It was too wide still and needed to be "taken in" slightly
    pic 2.
pic 3 is looking at the bag from the under side. You will notice the right side has been reduced in width.
pic 4 is how the bag sits on the bike after tailoring!
pic 5 is the inside of the bag. Here you can see how I have cut holes in the side and also through the ridged plastic frame of the bag.
To stop the holes on the side of the bag from fraying I put some stiches around the openings.
Ok, its not perfect but it is free and it is secure. Also you have to put all youre stuff in the bag after mounting it to the bike.
If you have used the Whoppa bag yourself you will know even with the right mounting kit for your bike the bag is still a bi*$h to fit and takes time.
So if it does the job then I am happy.
It would be good to have the little frame from the Ventura system on the back of the bike as you could put another small bag on it.
I think the Woppa bag looks better and tidyer but it loose's out on 20 litres over the Ventua.
Depends on how long and how far you are going but I need space for that litre bottle of fuel I now take with me on trips!
