Hello,
As a long term owner and KTM KTM Moto-X Team Mechanic. I now own a 2014 390 Duke. I ride it in Thailand, so the ambient temperature (30-38 ° C) is different than most of the riders on this site.
Some useful info on the India assembled 390 Duke. When received, some wiring & cable routing needed adjustment. Different on each bike I see. There were many orange zip ties, to secure wiring, hoses and cables to the frame. musts were removed As They restrained wiring, hose and cable flexibility. R efit zip ties Only wherethey are required. Low speed (<3000rpm) Fueling is set a little lean from new, for emission testing. This gives a slightly jerking ride (hunting) and sometimes stalls the engine. Not unpleasant When you adjust your riding style to compensate_for_errors, but I am sure this can be adjusted out. It is fueling related, Because on warm up to normal running temp. the bike runs so sweet! I have still to research available options for ECU adjustment. So far the Race Dynamics System Seems promising: - http://racedynamics.in/products/powertronic/ I had good results with a Dynojet Power Commander'''' system on My SDR 990, but best results were from'' TuneECU ' 'software, did not let me adjust the KTM ECU. TuneECU I hope that'''' adapt the software to include the 390 soon. The exhaust is very neat and quiet. Perfect for sneaking about in Thailand Avoiding the local Police $ Hunters! But, to aftermarket exhaust and air filter will help free up some more power available. '' I use on Akrapovic pipe'' and'' K / N'' air filter. Riding in Thailand, the engine is close to overheating, Often, in stop / start traffic. The fan comes on Regularly, Which blasts my leg with super heated air! This is not really a problem with the 390 engine as the fan brings the temperature down Quickly ... just my leg! I am very happy with this little car and motorcycle , It has adequate power and good handling, = Much fun! I am sure there is more performance to be found. I will post more details once I research more. Dave
