Das denke ich mir auch. Und da die Öhlinsteile für die KTM ja Tuningzubehör sind, müssten diese
also besser als die WP Serienteile sein. Sonst rechtfertigt sich der Preis ja nicht.
Von daher würde ich lieber die WP Fahrwerkselemente, die ja bereits am Bike sind, tunen.
Ich habe übrigens genau dies diesen WInter machen lassen und bin nun gespannt,
wie sich das Bike anfühlt.

ja kann man. aber das richtig gute zeug bekommt man nur über beziehungen, so wie bei öhlins auch. und in dem bereich wird jemand der nicht WM fährt wohl keine qualitätsunterschiede feststellen können.
es gibt aber auch im semiprofi-bereich gutes zeug WP SM gabel

Yeah mate, now I got you!
Sure that Ohlins aftermarket stuff is way better than standard WP forks coming OEM on the SMC. But the price difference is huge. If this plays no role go for it. But there are other possibilities, you can revalve and tune the standard SMC forks to a level where you can compete in national championships and you will most probably spend less money than going for Ohlins racing forks. You can also get WP racing forks which are as expensive as the Ohlins.
Sorry I dont know the FG661, only could test a FG41 which was great. I can say the Ohlins service is outstanding. And if I'd be Swedish I would never buy a WP *lol* Just kidding...

This is what i also imagined.
Now here is my view of possibilities :
- Rebuild and tune Original smc WPs ( cheapest way also )
- Sell WP and buy after market Ohlins ( Not that expensive when you sell WPs )
- Sell WP buy WP Racing fork. ( but i am not sure how much different they are compared to Original WPs rebuilt and tuned )
- OR final solution Find Marzocchi Shive 53mm ( witch mean that i would have to sell everything i own including the KTM to afford them )
Are FG 461 worth the money to replace out stock WPs with 461s
Starting with your last question first. Seriously, I have no clue.
I number the possibilitis you stated..
1) yes, the cheapest way. If it is good enuff for what you plan only one can answer. You.
2) Always a good idea provided you will get good money for the original forks.
3) They are very different. Thats why the race forks cost about 4 to 6 times of what the original one costs 
4) Shiver is a good choice but requires a jackpot win or you must be rich

Some news Steve buddy
After talking with one of the greatest Ohlins dealers in usa i came to a conclusion.
1 - There is no existing Öhlins fork made for LC4 bikes.
2 - FG 461 & Fg 661 does not exist anymore its an old fork.
3 - RXF Fork is the one optional for LC4 moto ( with modifying ) around 3000 usd
4 - One can keep OEM WP fork with Ohlins Cartage filling ( cheaper ) around 1200 usd
