I think this is correct.
Just called my dealer: we'll have +/- the same action here in Belgium.
+/- means <€10000 for the 1050 including 21% Mwst on MY 2016.
Everyone is waiting for the 800 adventure parallel twin (is announced for 2017) and there is some orange fear that many customers will choose the Africa Twin.
I also looked to the AT but with a price difference +/-4000EUR there is a lot of money left for parts (exhaust,spoked wheels) and extended warranty.

As far as i know the only cost should be the higher Mwst (21% so 2% more than in DE). No specific import taxes. + transport in the van.
Warranty covers the whole ECC community.

1/The duke with the new 690 engine will be available before end of november. Price 690=€8395 690R=€9995 Mwst in Belgium is 21% included)
2/Actually NO plans to use the new engine in the SMCR 690 or Enduro 690
3/800 Duke: still a prototype;not yet confirmed but...
4/IF it comes there will be a Trail/adventure too

For me the long pleasure of a 240 kg japanese bike that is stone reliable and runs 4ever is more important than a 200kg bike that gives me maybe short-time more pleasure but without confidence of reaching my goal.
In the case of Honda i know that anywhere i am from africa to america, the himalaya to mexico i will ALWAYS find a competent dealer...
Servicing is easy;when others start to change their second oil filter (out of 4 ) i'm back on the raod again (why 4 filters if the japanese do it with 1???)
At home,i find all the parts i need within 24 hours. Don't have to wait,as was the case with my former Duke 690, 6 weeks on a "kipphebel" , seeing ruined my holiday in august.
I'm afraid my 690 will be the last KTM i ever owned...Good bike but...anywhere,any place,anytime something can break.
Just use the search function on this site.
Never ever you will find common problems on a Honda or Yamaha forum.
KTM is for me like Red Bull: good product placement,good marketing but after all nothing more than instant pleasure.
And let's face it: if i buy KTM, i buy 60% european and 40% indian.
On the other side: my BMW is running strong,no problems: just filling up gasoline and gazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Ich kann nur sagen dass KTM so eine geile Marke ist, meine 2013er hat jz 21.000km drauf. Bei 20.000 musste ich erst die Ventile einstellen und ich fahr alles andere als brav.

Auf die Laufleistung kein einziges Motorproblem einmal ist mir ne Sicherung gegangen mehr nicht. 70°C Öl und volle Kanne geben

P.S. Preis / Leistung ist boss

Hi Nima,

I can understand you.
I often look back at the times with the Honda XR600. Simple,cheap and reliable. Gasoline,fresh oil in the sump and it never misses a beat.
If Honda still produced the XR650R i never would have buyed my 690 enduro.
