Now call me a fool but I was wondering...
How hard it would be to fit a Turbo to my 2005 Superduke!
Imagine it!!
What do you think?
Where to start? ![]()

You are a fool! ![]()
How about throttle response? In my oppinion the Super Duke is a bike with a very special character which would be destroyed by turbo charging the engine. No?

1. What do you think?
2. Where to start?
Well, won't call you a fool, but only pass you the info that I fear you're at the wrong place for ideas like that one... ![]()
Would better fit in a French or US Forum, though!
Now my personal answers:
on 1: Because I'm 50% Belgian BUT 50% German, I'll also say "Nothing at all because absolutely useless!" (Unless you plan a dragrace in the near future, and even then there are a lot of other Twins which would fit a lot better!)
on 2: IF you start, I think the first thing to do is to augment the weight of this nice lightweight to at least 500lbs with a 30-70% balance...
If not you would only need a rear wheel...

On my opinion it's already hard enough not to pop a wheelie at each start with a stock one!!!! ![]()
How about Nos?
Up the bhp by 25% and cheap mod.
Anyone have experience with Nos?

for those silly things use a harley street rod or a suzuki hayabusa. The SD is the wrong stuff for those gambling issues... ![]()
I think a 2 cylinder engine is the wrong source for such things.

Those who have can't tell anymore...

No, seriously, as said before, think the SD's the wrong base...
But,
let me ask you why you absolutely want to increase bhp of the SD?
You about to try red-light-races?
'Cause here on the Europe's biggest Kart-track the Vosges I am absolutely sure that I couldn't do anything more with 25% more power...
On the contrary, I'm quiet sure it would become pretty impossible to manage in those endless bents...
And on my opinion, the SD's too bad for straight roads... ![]()
So, tell me/us...
Hello Guys,
Thanks for the replys.
I will answer the reason for more power.
I know Turbo is really not an option with the Superduke.
I dont have much experience with Nos and I think it only works on full throtle,
again, not suitable for Superduke.
So the only real way to get more power is a bigger engine.
When, in 2005 I wanted a more comfortable and flickable ( Better switching in the fast twisties ) bike I traded my K3 1000 GSX-R
For an other bike.
I test rode:
MV Brutale, I found I had to rev it to much to get the power on + it was expencive.
Benelli TNT 1130 Triple, This bike was so sweet, lots of power and everything was right, except, the company had gone into liquidation...awaiting a new buyer.
KTM Superduke, A nice bike, quick acceleration if a little slower then the TNT.
I really wanted a TNT but I was advised by my dealer that if it should go wrong I would be in for a long wait to fix it.
So, I made my mind up. I was going to buy the Superduke.
I love my Superduke, I would go so far as to say, it is the best bike I have ever owned. I once had a Ducati 900ss air cooled and that comes a close second.
My Superduke started leeking oil down the side stand a few months ago. It turned out the crank case seal was faulty.
KTM UK said it was only the second bike to have such a problem but it still ended up in the garage for 6 weeks.
I have traveled 1000's of miles on my Superduke now and I am hitting the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd all the time.
I just wish I could get more power out of her.
When I rode the TNT I had no such problem, its 20bhp up on the Superduke.
The TNT Triple motor was such a beast too.
I know Benneli make the new TNT: The Tre-k but its a softer version of the TNT.
WHY DID BENNELI STOP PRODUCING THE TNT??? ![]()
I just want more power from my v twin.
Over the past 5 years I have owned 4 bikes and 3 of them have been v twins.
Like I said, I would have gone for the TNT but I also love my v twins.
Is there a big bore kit for the Superduke? ![]()
AND NOW, IN GERMAN. I BET THIS WILL MAKE FUNNY READING!!
sichere Fahrt :daumen hoch:
