Motoröllampe lischt verzögert ab, aufgrund verschmutzer Filter - SCM-R (2022)

    I am experiencing this problem on my bike. Even when the bike is upright and the engine warm, 4 to 7 seconds pass before the engine oil light goes out. I noticed this after 500 km. I have anticipated the first service at 900 km and replacing oil and oil filters solved the problem. The oil filters were very dirty and the drain plug magnet had caught a lot of ferrous sludge. Now at 2800 km the problem has returned. I will change the oil and oil filters again as soon as possible. Have any of the forum users experienced the same problem on 2022 models?


    Ich habe dieses Problem bei meinem Motorrad. Selbst wenn das Motorrad aufrecht steht und der Motor warm ist, vergehen 4 bis 7 Sekunden, bevor die Motorölleuchte erlischt. Ich habe dies nach 500 km festgestellt. Ich habe den ersten Service bei 900 km vorweggenommen, und der Austausch von Öl und Ölfiltern hat das Problem gelöst. Die Ölfilter waren sehr schmutzig und der Magnet der Ablassschraube hatte eine Menge Eisenschlamm eingefangen. Jetzt bei 2800 km ist das Problem wieder aufgetreten. Ich werde das Öl und die Ölfilter so bald wie möglich erneut wechseln. Hat jemand aus dem Forum dasselbe Problem mit einem 2022er Modell gehabt?

    I am currently owning two LC4 bikes. A 2019 SMCR (20k km on the odo) and a 2020 701 SM (4k km)


    When starting the engine of the SMCR the oil pressure light turns off within 1-2s no matter if the engine is cold, warm, hot and no matter if the oil level is low or high.


    Starting the 701, no matter if it is cold, warm or hot, it takes 3-6s until the light turns off. When filling up the oil to the upper limit, it seems to be a bit faster nevertheless it is reliably slower than on the SMCR.


    I guess it is caused bye a different sensitivity of the oil pressure sensor and I dont worry about it too much.


    As you mentioned, you could solve the issue bye changing the (dirty) oil filter that are a significant retarding item for building up the oil pressure throughout the whole oil system.


    If the camshaft drive chain does not rattle heavily, I wouldn't pay too much attention.

    Reading it carefully I can conclude that it is a fairly common problem but unfortunately it is still not clear whether it is due to incorrectly calibrated/defective pressure switches or an actual problem with the lubrication system. The answers from the authorised workshops are, as usual, vague and the KTM service policy is not to be trusted (see chain tensioner or clutch control problems).

    The problem with my bike is that I get a rattling noise from the engine (similar to when the tensioner does not keep the timing chain correctly tensioned) which disappears when the warning light goes out. This morning I wanted to make a video but found the oil light went out immediately. It seems that in my case the problem occurs more when the engine is hot than when it is cold. I will pay more attention to this in the future. However I will change the oil and oil filters , it certainly doesn't hurt .

    Wenn ich es aufmerksam lese, kann ich feststellen, dass es sich um ein ziemlich häufiges Problem handelt, aber leider ist immer noch nicht klar, ob es an falsch kalibrierten/defekten Druckschaltern liegt oder an einem tatsächlichen Problem mit dem Schmiersystem. Die Antworten der Vertragswerkstätten sind wie üblich vage, und der KTM-Servicepolitik ist nicht zu trauen (siehe Probleme mit dem Kettenspanner oder der Kupplungssteuerung).

    Das Problem bei meinem Motorrad ist, dass ich ein rasselndes Geräusch vom Motor höre (ähnlich wie wenn der Kettenspanner die Steuerkette nicht richtig spannt), das verschwindet, wenn die Warnlampe ausgeht. Heute Morgen wollte ich ein Video machen, musste aber feststellen, dass die Öllampe sofort wieder ausging. Es scheint, dass das Problem in meinem Fall eher bei heißem als bei kaltem Motor auftritt. Ich werde in Zukunft mehr darauf achten. Allerdings werde ich das Öl und die Ölfilter wechseln, das kann sicher nicht schaden.
