Hi from Australia!! and SLS Q's

    Gday everyone!


    I've been lurking for quite a while. I love the site, despite not being able to read german! haha. I've owned my orange Super Duke for 6 months now, I got one of the first ones that came to Australia. I didn't even test ride it, just handed over the cash. :-) I love it too bits.... cos it's evil.... haha


    Anyway, had a question about the SAS (SLS) removal modification. How do you make the FI light go out when it's all removed? Do you have to have the akro map to disable the FI light?


    My bike is still standard except for the 2nd/3rd gangsensor removal. I still have the standard exhausts, hopefully not for too much longer.

    well i am NOT very familiar with the SAS / SLS thing. KTM sells something like an "SLS conversion kit". It is described at their parts catalogue. Maybe someone has a scanner and could post the picture and the part number.

    as far as I knew that is WRONG. It works very simple and "fakes" SLS function. ktm did not tell that to clearly, cause SLS is necessary to fullfill environmetal laws in the European Union.


    maybe i am wrong - but it looks worth to give it a try :)

    What is this "the 2nd/3rd gangsensor"? Some more info, how does it improve bike and is it possible to at home..?

    Das EPC System (Electronic Power Control) der 990er arbeitet im 2. und 3. Gang (also nicht in den weiteren Gängen) und wird aktiviert, wenn der Fahrer mittels 100% geöffnetem Gasgriff beschleunigen möchte. Bei dieser Position (100% geöffnet), aktiviert sich eine Drosselung, welche die Leistung für den 2. und 3. Gang reduziert, um Messtechnisch Geräuschwerte zu reduzieren.




    Das Thema Gangsensor war schon mehrmals Thema :teuflisch:

    I know you can buy a '2nd/3rd gansensor sport' kit from Sommer KTM for 40 Euro.... Or like SM-Mic says, cut the two wires.


    I did not cut the wires. Under the belly pan is a plug with the yellow/brown, grey and green/black wires. Disconnect the plug, remove the yellow/brown and grey pins. Insulate them with electrical tape and re-connect plug. Same result but reversable!


    Has anyone fitted the SLS disassembly kit with the stock exhuast?? And Disabled the FI light? How did you do it?

    Ich weiß, daß Sie einen Installationssatz ' des 2nd/3. gansensorsports ' von Sommer KTM für 40 kaufen können Euro...., Oder wie Inspektion-Mic sagt, schneidet die zwei Leitungen.


    Ich schnitt nicht die Leitungen. Unter Bauch ist die Wanne ein Stecker mit dem yellow/brown, dem Grau und den green-/blackleitungen. Trennen Sie den Stecker, entfernen Sie das yellow/brown und die grauen Stifte. Isolieren Sie sie mit elektrischem Klebeband und schließen Sie Stecker wieder an. Das gleiches Resultat aber reversable!


    Hat jemand den SLS-Zerlegunginstallationssatz mit dem auf lagerexhuast? gepaßt? Und gesperrt dem FI-Licht? Wie taten Sie es?
