Hello, mein deutch ist nicht gut aber Sie weisen alles von de ktm.. Ich vrage Sie in freestyle deutch:

Ich habe die Openairbox aber ich weis nicht weder er ein filter in mussen aber nicht..

Ich habe de full akra + mapping + openairboxcover minus luftfilter

I have a question, I have de 690 smc with de full Akra and the akra mapping. Now I just ordered the open airboxlid (see picture) but,

my ktm-dealer doesnt know if I have to put an normal airfilter in de box (or de foamfilter). I thought an open airbox is emt, otherwise it is almost the same as the orginal.

as far as i know you shoud go and buy an k&n or a similar filter

but its very funny that your dealer cant give you an answer - my advice change your dealer!

I think that it is not necessary to install a special air filter.

The information sheet attached to the open airboxlid says:

"When using the optional foam air filter 76506115000, it must be fit to the cover by grinding down the sealing falnge of the airfilter from 10mm to 8mm, This is necessary to install the components together."

Sounds for me that this is only "optional". So stock air filter can be used as well.

Oke, but do u have to install any airfilter in de box? Because I thought in an open airfilterbox you dont have to put an filter inside. Because de box filters the air.

Does for example , a K&N filter dont have the same filtersystem as the filterbox?

That seems to be the problem! This filterbox obviously lacks a filter! It just lets more air in so you still ned stock filter or another one.

As far as i know you have to install an air filter anyway.

Because as the name says, its only the lid you are replacing.

The open airbox lid has holes over the lid covered with a fine grid. But the grid is not the same as a real air filter.

This means, you have to remove the stock lid and replace it with the open airbox lid. The airfilter keeps the same (or change it against the K&N or foam filter with adjustments). But anyway you need a filter to protect your engine.

Wich one should I take? The foam filter or the K&N one.. the one that breaths the easiest I should think..

Does anyone has an productnumber for de K&N filter? I'm looking at the ktm site and only see the K&N for an 690 duke..

was ist den nun besser? Der K&N (den hab ich mir jetz bestellt) oder der passende Schaumstofffilter aus dem PP_Katalog?

"schlimmer" meinte ja es sei hammer damit! (einige beiträge vor mir)

und warum nicht einfach den originalen drin lassen?
nicht dass sie halt zu viel luft bekommt, denk ich mir halt

ich dachte mir das so:
standart-mapping + standart luftfilterdeckel --> gut
akra-mapping + offener luftfilterdeckel ---> besser
akra-mapping + offener luftfilterdeckel mit anderen luftfilter --> zu viel luft???

korrigiert mich wenn ich falsch lieg^^.

wo sind die Profis ?

ich fahre nun auch folgende kombi:

.) akra slip on

.) akra mapping

.) schaumstoff luftfilter ktm pp

.) luftfilterdeckel ktm pp

ansprechverhalten ist super, lautstärke ist normal für eine supermoto, durch die verwendung von ktm teilen sicher kein problem mit der garantie!!

3. gang gaswheelie so stellt man sich eine nahezu originale supermoto vor.

einziger nachteil: das gewicht - speziell in engen kurven

was ist denn nun eigtlich der unterschied zwischen dem schaumstoff luftfilter ktm pp und K&N ?

ich finde den schaumstoff filter besser, man kann ich super reinigen,danach einölen und passt.

ist auch bei sämtlichen mx und enduros verbaut

ja des stimmt schon abgesehen davon, dass der K&N auch auswaschbar ist. Aber der wahre Vorteil des K&N soll doch der höhere Luftdurchsatz gegenüber Schaumstofffiltern sein.
