If you are happy with the performance of the XT, I would keep it and not go the 1190 route
remember, by performance I don't so much mean top speed, but rather acceleration
-
I had the 2010 XT1200Z before I bought the 1190
The XT is better quality, but not such a 'fun' bike as the 1190 - the handling of the 1190 is also better in my opinionI did long trips with both and they are both comfortable, but if you like rather high speed touring, the XT consumes oil and quite a lot more fuel than the 1190 when ridden hard for long stretches
I never missed my XT and have since 'upgraded' to the 1290 Super Adventure

thanks Ritschi

do you still have the OFFROAD mode?
-
I have the 1290 and it's fuel warning and distance remaining is very conservative.....
I always fill my tank (30l) and use the below graph to see how far I can still go, depending on the indicated fuel consumption (l/100km), which I have found to be quite accurate.
It works very well for me and I have never run out of fuel and regularly fill up with 29 and even slightly more litres

I have 3 dealers fairly close to where I live and dropped by at the one dealer today - spoke to the workshop manager and he knows nothing about any software or hardware upgrades for the 1290SA forks..... and he says the CLUNK is normal.
I'm not sure if the dealers are stupid/lazy or if KTM HQ does not inform them of the latest changes - very frustrating!
-
if I remember correctly, the current that is drawn from the battery also drops off just about completely after the flash - so it does seem to indicate the activation/de-activation of something? I'm just guessing....
-
I don´t think so because my bike does the "blink" as well without the immo.yes, but perhaps that is built into the ECU as standard as it will probably cost nothing and easily enables non-alarm/immob fitted bikes to be upgraded?
-
I think it has to do with the immobilizer or KTM alarm system when fitted
-
any external method to fix KTMs sloppy work, will result in die odometer becoming less accurate as well, apart from possible problems with ABS/TC etc
-
at last some sensible comments - the error is reproducible, so must be fixable - it is made by KTM and was intended by them - we must inform them that we do not approve !
