Schalldämpfer Thread - Duke 4/5

Hallo allwissendes Forum,

ich habe da mal ein paar Fragen ( die Antworten stehen bestimmt schon im Theard , aber 124 seiten zu lesen sind schon sehr zeitintensiv)

1. gibt es für den Leo-ESD db-Eater mit größern Durchmesser ?

2. Wenn ja wo und mit welcher Artikelbezeichnung.

Ich haben im Netz nicht gefunden.

Es gibt sehr wohl einen Killer mit größerem Durchmesser

@thordy: gibt es schon, aber man muss suchen...ruf mal bei dem Leo-Vertrieb Deutschland an. Die können weiterhelfen...hab ich auch gemacht! Finde nur grad die Nummer net...Andere Leo-Anlagen haben grössere Killer drin, ich glaube, der von der SV 650 hat einen grösseren Durchmesser...siehste auch bei E-Bay!

So insted i write in english i hope it's ok. Now when the spring is arriving i have to get a new exhaust for my KTM DUKE 690 2012.

The thing is that i don't understand everything that i have read in this thread and the Swedish ktm forum SUCKS! When i saw that you hade 124 pages about exhust for my bike i just new you are the right guys to ask this.

How many extra HP do i get? Does the bike have to get mapped with this spec? Is it a cat in the pipe i linked or only the pipe ? Do you recomend this?

Or should i get only a slipon? I'm thiniking about the akra or the serbing/powerpart. How many extra hp do i get from slipon, about 2 right?

I want my bike to have a louder sound but also i'm very intrested in the increase of HP, so can you help me?

But you shouldn't expect any noticeable gain in performance at all or you'll probably be disappointed. You might gain 1 or 2 HP that you shouldn't notice. BUT the Leo Pipe will provide you with a noticable gain of torque (NM) at lower RPM (ca. 3500-5000). The bike doesn't need to be remapped with this setup, you'll be fine with using the stock mapping. There actually doesn't exist another mapping that would fit this setup

The Pipe removes the cat, so if you need one you have to buy a cat separately. But you don't NEED TO! You should know that the Leo Pipe is NOT street legal and the bike will become quite loud. I don't know how strict the police is in Sweden but in Germany / Austria / Switzerland this is definately a problem! The Slip-On itself is street legal but you won't gain any HP or Torque at all.

If you want to gain max performance with your exhaust system you have to go for the quite expensive Akrapovic Slip-On and the Akrapovic pre-silencer. I dont know if the performance will be significantly better in comparison to the Leovince Setup and to be honest I doubt that - but the Akra costs A LOT MORE! And also the Akra pre-silencer isn't street legal!!! If you want street legal performance AND a great sound, check the (also quite expensive) Remus Underfloor exhaust (ca. 1000 €). Just remove the baffles and the sound will be awesome I heard it myself!

Ok, my buddie is driving a KTM smc 625 LC4 -04 with akrapovic slipon and that bike is REALLY loud, do you think my bike would be louder with the leo system?

And i have to say from the videos iv'e seen if you only use the leo slip it dosen't get att loud and nice sound as you get from the akra slipon or the serbing/powerparts, so if i'm gonna buy only a slipon it's gonna be akra or serbing.

I dont care if it's not leagal i just want the bike to gain torque and sound better, but the bike can't be too loud. I read about a guy in this thread how hade the fresco pipe and akra and he had to sell his fresco pipe because of the loud sound, and i dont want to buy the full leo system and have to sell the leo pre silencer because it's to loud. So i hope the leo fullsystem sounds nice and not to much!

What setup should i buy?

My max price is 750 Euro. I want other powerparts aswell .

Don't let the videos mislead you, they are mostly filmed with a Smartphone - the Sound of course is quite different if you're really standing next to the bike. All available Slip-Ons are more or less equally loud - it's the pre-silencer that kills most of the sound, so that it really doesn't matter which slip-on you buy as long as you do not replace the pre-silencer with a pipe. Leo Akra Sebring all sound quite similar although the material quality will probably be a little bit better on the Akra or Sebring.

The Leo Fullsystem sounds really good and costs about 500,-€ if you go for the most expensive carbon slip-on. It will be loud but not toooooo loud

You should also check the G.P.R. exhausts. They sound very good, the overall quality is good, they're cheap and also come with a pipe that removes the stock pre-silencer/cat!

EDIT 2: You could also combine the Akra Slip-on with the Leo Pipe if you like the look of the Akra most an would get this as a result:

That would also be the sound you can expect from the Leo Fullsystem. The Leo system (without baffles) will actually be a little bit louder because the akra slip-on in this video has 40mm baffles installed.

I know that most films are filmed with smartphone and it's super hard to hear how they actually sound.
Somehow i dont like the sound from the gpr fullsystem (iv'e only seen the videos) but i have to make my choice from only viewing videos. I have noticed that not many people have the new duke in Sweden so videos are my only choice!

I only bought the Leo Slip-on because I want my bike street legal. The sound without the db-killer is okay, but far away from satisfying me. I HATE the pre-silencer

The only street legal exhaust with a good sound is the Remus but i definately won't pay 1000,- bucks for it... Well... maybe next year

Fahre jetzt mit Leo Vince Katersatzrohr und Akrapovic Endschalldämpfer mit original DB Killer, ist aber leider etwas zu laut........

Und mit Original Mittelschalldämpfer zu Leise

Da wäre doch Original-VSD + deinem Akra mit dem größerem dB-Eater die Lösung. Steht hier auch im Thread.

Oder du tauscht deinen Akra einfach mal gegen den originalen und hörst dir an, ob es dir zusagt ;)

Schon mal etwas von Google gehört?
Hier ist der VTUV109 in nem anderen Shop.

Hab im Nachbarforum was zum Shark ESD aufgeschnappt. Soundfile-Übersicht ist auch aktualisiert (Klick!).

Schön auch zu sehen, dass man nicht der einzige ist, dem die Karre beim mit dem Gas spielen hin und wieder ausgeht

Boah, EDIT Nr. 4 :
Das Video bestätigt mich mal wieder darin, dass sich die meisten ESDs an der Duke mit originalem VSD sehr sehr ähnlich anhören und auch in etwa wohl gleich laut sind. Naja, im Westen nix neues... Der Shark gefällt mir im Übrigen aber optisch sehr sehr gut!!!

ich fahre das Leo Rohr mit Serien ESD! ich finds geil für 150 € echt top Sound...aber mit offener Drosselklappe würde ich nicht an der Rennleitung vorbeifahren....
werde also zumindest bis es den Highscore Krümmer gibt erstmal nixmehr tun ;-)
